Common Questions
How do you score?
Every score is for one standard 150 ml glass. It starts at 100 and loses points for alcohol, sugar, hangover triggers, sulfites and additives. Higher means easier on your body: 70 and up is a Good pick, 51–69 is In moderation, and 50 and below is Go easy. If you tell us sulfites affect you, you limit sugar, or wines give you headaches, those factors count more. In the app, tap How we score for the full breakdown.
What are the confidence levels?
Confidence shows how much of a score rests on real numbers rather than estimates. We look at alcohol, sugar and hangover factors first, then sulfites and additives.
- High (three dots): alcohol, sugar and hangover factors are all confirmed from the label or the producer.
- Medium (two dots): two of those three are confirmed, or one is confirmed along with both sulfites and additives.
- Low (one dot): most of the score is our estimate based on the wine's style.
A wine we know less about isn't penalized for it, but its score is less certain. Tap the confidence label on any result to see exactly what was confirmed and what was estimated.
Can I rely on the allergy and vegan warnings?
PourSavvy provides general information, not medical or dietary advice. If you have an allergy or medical condition, always confirm with the label or the producer, even when no warning shows.
A wine's score or details look wrong. How do I report it?
Email info@PourSavvy.com with the wine's name and vintage and what looks off, ideally with the producer's page or a photo of the label. We fix wrongly read wines and update the verified database from producer sources.
